Our PastorS

Andrew Bunner

Senior Pastor

As a Christian, I stand firm on the fact that Jesus is the only Saviour and my only Saviour. As a pastor, my passion is to help people trust God. How? Through prayer, praise, preaching, and pastoral care. But what is a pastor? A pastor is a shepherd, a man who pastures the sheep. Yes, God calls His people sheep, but it's not an insult to us. Instead, it's a compliment to Him, because He's so much wiser than us and so capable of meeting our needs. God is the good Shepherd and I'm His assistant. My job is to lead and to feed His sheep, spiritually. Being both a sheep and a shepherd might seem awkward, but I love the life that God has given me to live.

Speaking of love, I've been married to my wife Angela since 2002. Since then, God has blessed us with two adult daughters and one teenage son. I've been pastoring since 2004, and serving at Emmanuel Bible Church since April 2023. My main hobbies are playing, coaching, and watching sports, and performing and listening to music. Some of my other interests are playing games with friends, reading good books, telling dad jokes, and satisfying my sweet tooth with treats like maple syrup, Reese peanut butter cups, Nanaimo bars, and ice cream. I've tried coffee, but it's not my cup of tea. Feel free to contact me if you need my help. I don't have all the answers, but I serve a God who does.

Barry Speck

Associate Pastor

Growing up as a foster kid in Nova Scotia, I never dreamed that God would use me to serve Him for His glory. I was saved at a youth camp when I was 14, and then continued to grow to know God through the input of my pastor and local church. After high school, my pastor encouraged me to try something I had never heard of, Bible School. Through the grace of God, I graduated from New Brunswick Bible Institute in 1988 and also met my wife Amy there. We were married in 1989, and have three married children and nine grandchildren. I served in para-church ministry for 35 years before coming to EBC.

As Associate Pastor, I want to invest in the people of God the way that others have invested in me, inviting others to take their next step with Jesus.

In my down time, you will probably find me listening to old time radio stories, swimming laps in the local pool or taking a walk or hike with my wife.
